FAQ

Straight answers to fair questions.

Everything leaders ask before they work with us, in plain language. If your question isn't here, it's a 30-minute conversation away.

0101

Getting started

What the first conversation looks like, and what it doesn't.

What actually happens in the first 30 minutes?+

A conversation, not a pitch. You talk about where your business is and what keeps interrupting it; we listen and tell you honestly whether we're the right fit. You leave with a clear read on your situation either way — no deck, no pressure, no follow-up sequence.

Do we have to leave our current IT provider before talking to you?+

No. Most engagements begin while an incumbent is still in place. We assess quietly, build the transition plan, and time the handoff so nothing drops. Your team notices the day things get calmer, not the day the contract changes.

How fast can you take over?+

The first thirty days are mapped before we start — access, inventory, monitoring, and the quiet fixes that stop the recurring interruptions. How We Work walks through the whole first month, day by day.

What kind of businesses do you work with?+

Businesses where downtime, data, and compliance carry real stakes — manufacturing and distribution, mortgage and lending, professional services, finance, insurance, healthcare. If technology failing for a day would cost you real money or real trust, you're who we built this for.

Working together

What embedded looks like on an ordinary Tuesday.

Who do we actually talk to day to day?+

People who know your environment by name — not a rotating queue. You get a small, consistent team that answers the phone, plus senior practitioners who sit in on the decisions that matter. No ticket purgatory.

What does "embedded" mean in practice?+

We work from inside your business, not from a vendor's distance. We sit in your planning meetings, know your renewal dates, speak up before you buy the wrong thing, and carry a plan that runs quarters ahead. The difference shows up in what stops happening: surprises.

Do you replace our internal IT people?+

Usually we make them better. Internal staff keep the context and the relationships; we bring the depth, the tooling, and the coverage they can't carry alone. Where there's no internal team, we are the team — either way, one line of accountability.

Something breaks at 2 a.m. What happens?+

Monitoring usually catches it before anyone's awake to notice, and most of the time it's resolved before your morning. When it's genuinely urgent, a human answers — and you'll have known that person's name for months.

0303

Security & risk

The questions that keep owners up at night, answered in daylight.

Are you a security company or an IT company?+

That split is how businesses end up with four vendors and no plan. Support, security, automation, and AI are one practice here, because in your business they're one system. When something goes wrong, there's exactly one number to call.

We think we've already been breached. What do we do?+

Call (248) 963-0000 now, before anything else. Don't wipe machines, don't pay anyone, don't announce it internally yet. We'll help you contain first and sort out the relationship questions later.

Can you handle compliance and cyber-insurance requirements?+

Yes — questionnaires, audits, frameworks, and the controls behind them. More usefully, we build your environment so the answers are already true, which is the difference between passing an audit and surviving one. Regulated industries are most of our work.

Where does AI fit into all this?+

Deliberately. Your people are already using AI, sanctioned or not — so we start with a defensible policy, then automate the work that deserves it. Useful beats impressive, and everything has to hold up in front of a regulator.

0404

Money & terms

Priced like a partnership, written like we mean it.

How does pricing work?+

A flat monthly number, scoped to your environment and agreed before we start. It covers the practice, not a menu of billable events — so calling us never costs extra, and the incentive stays where it belongs: on preventing problems, not billing for them.

Are we locked into a long contract?+

The agreement is written in plain language and scoped in a service statement you'll actually read. We earn the renewal by the quarter's results, not by the termination clause. Ask us anything about the terms before you sign — that conversation is free.

What does it cost to leave?+

Your environment is documented, your credentials are yours, and offboarding is part of the plan from day one. Providers who make leaving painful are telling you how they plan to keep you. We'd rather you stay because it works.

Why "SignalOne"?+

Misalignment creates noise — four vendors, four versions of the truth, nobody accountable. A plan finds the signal. One team, one plan, one line of accountability. The name is the promise.

Most of this starts with a 30-minute conversation.
